Denovo membranous glomerulopathy in renal allograft.

چکیده
Renal transplant is now the accepted mode of treatment of end stage renal disease (ESRD). The major causes of ESRD being diabetes mellitus, hypertension, glomerulonephritis, polycystic kidney disease and other/unknown. The most common glomerular disease in renal allograft biopsies is transplant glomerulopathy, i.e., those lesions related to transplant rejections. Other glomerulonephropathies (GN) also occur which are recurrences of GN the original disease which caused ESRD, diseases related to the donor and those without any explanation called denovo GN. One hundred five well documented cases of denovo occurrence of membranous GN in renal allograft have been reported in medical literature. We present a case from Pakistan where approximately 1,000 transplanted patients are being followed-up.

Collapsing glomerulopathy--recurrence in a renal allograft.
A second biopsy showed features characteristic of collapsing glomerulopathy (see Figure 1). The patient focal segmental glomerulosclerosis; visceral epithelial cell; nephrotic syndrome developed systemic hypertension, progressive anasarca, and renal insufficiency, and was initiated on maintenance haemodialysis in April 1993. In November 1993 the patient received a renal

BACKGROUND Occasional case reports of membranous glomerulopathy described unique subepithelial accumulations of an unusual type of immune deposit composed of spherular structures. The identity of such structures as nuclear pores has been suggested, but not established. METHODS We identified a cohort of patients (n = 14, including 1 patient with disease recurrence in an allograft) who presente...

AIMS To immunophenotype and quantitate glomerular and interstitial inflammatory cells in cases of idiopathic membranous and IgA glomerulopathy; to correlate cell numbers with aspects of clinical data and renal function. METHODS Routine indirect immunoperoxidase staining was performed on frozen section renal biopsy specimens for T and B lymphocyte related antigens, macrophages and MHC class II...
متن کاملDe Novo Collapsing Glomerulopathy in Renal Allograft in Association with BK Virus Nephropathy in a Child and Stabilization of Renal Function by Elimination of Viremia
Well-recognized association between HIV 1 infection and collapsing glomerulopathy (CG) raises the possibility that intrarenal infection by other viruses may also contribute to the development of this lesion in native or post-transplant kidneys. There is evidence in literature about association of these lesions with cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, hepatitis C virus, and parvovirus B19 infec...
متن کاملRecurrent lupus nephritis in the second allograft of a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus.
Lupus glomerulonephritis is a common and serious complication of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) affecting up to 50% of lupus patients. Recurrent lupus nephritis is rare, complicating as low as 1% of the lupus transplant population according to some authors. However, it may be underreported with more realistic recurrent rates oscillating from 2.8 to 8.7%. We report the case of a patient with...
